The Role
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and drive our cloud infrastructure forward.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our AWS infrastructure, building and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, and developing and maintaining infrastructure as code using Terraform.
You will also be responsible for monitoring system health and performance, collaborating closely with Product Management and Engineering teams, and applying best practices in security by design.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize our AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
- Build and maintain Kubernetes clusters to support our application deployment needs.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate provisioning and scaling of cloud resources.
- Monitor system health and performance with Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana, ensuring proactive issue resolution and maintaining service reliability.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure smooth and secure delivery of infrastructure solutions.
- Apply best practices in security by design to safeguard both public and internal APIs.
- Identify and address architectural challenges to simplify processes and enhance system performance.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor peers to maintain high standards of code quality.
- Define and execute a technical roadmap to improve infrastructure scalability, team efficiency, and reduce technical debt.
Requirements
- Experience in cloud infrastructure management, particularly with AWS, including hands-on experience with services such as EC2, S3, EKS, DynamoDB, and RDS.
- Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters, with a strong understanding of container orchestration and scaling in production environments.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools, particularly Terraform, and a solid grasp of infrastructure automation best practices.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools, particularly Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana, to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Strong focus on security, with a deep understanding of best practices for securing cloud environments and infrastructure.
- A proactive and autonomous work style, with the ability to identify potential improvements and take initiative to drive them forward.
- Nice to have: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation, particularly with GitLab and Kubernetes for continuous integration and deployment in a context of Golang services.
- Nice to have: previous experience in high-availability, large-scale environments, particularly in SaaS platforms.
