Responsibilities of a Python Engineer:
- Develop high-quality code that aligns with Syberry's standards.
- Design solutions that address user needs: this may involve delivering API services, managing datasets and data pipelines, or integrating with external systems based on team requirements.
- Collaborate closely with clients and team members to ensure effective communication.
About you:
- Significant engineering experience: we value a minimum of 5 years in software engineering as a strong indicator of capability (though we welcome challenges to this notion).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms: proficiency in AWS or similar services, utilizing key functionalities for computation, networking, and storage.
- Solid mathematical foundation: apply your knowledge to tackle complex technical problems.
- Proficient in SQL and relational databases: capable of crafting efficient queries and effectively interacting with databases.
- Fluent in English: essential for daily interactions with native speakers.
- Design and implement APIs following industry best practices to ensure scalability and maintainability.
- Experience with Docker: including the development of custom Docker files for various applications.
- Availability for collaboration: able to work until 7 PM CET at least three days a week to align with our product team and end users in the Eastern Time Zone, while maintaining an 8-hour workday.
Additional advantages:
- Knowledge of finance: while deep expertise is not required, a general understanding of investment management, particularly in equities, back-testing, and financial simulations, is beneficial.
- Statistical knowledge is a valuable asset.
- Experience in direct client interaction: understanding user needs and delivering comprehensive solutions.
- Background in engineering data pipelines.
- Familiarity with Flask, FastAPI, or similar web frameworks.
- Experience with Kotlin or another backend programming language.
