About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Group Financial Accounting Specialist to join our team at SCOR. As a key member of our Group Reporting & Accounting department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our financial reporting and accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the COA Revamping Phase
- Develop a comprehensive Chart of Account that links Omega TC to SAP GL and BFC, enabling the production of financial statements, rollforward, and external disclosures under IFRS 17.
- Ensure the non-regression of the CoA for other reporting (Parent/local GAAP), ensuring that changes made for IFRS 17 do not prevent reporting under other GAAP.
- Participate in business testing and implementation testing of the designed CoA.
- Collaborate with IT, Business Units, and project teams.
- Define relevant governance for CoA changes in BAU.
- Provide Technical Guidance and Training
- Ensure that legal entities have a good understanding of the COA to build their analysis for clearance meetings in the reconciliation part.
- Closing Clearance: Maintain and develop AFO reports used by LEs for their clearance package in relation with SAP CC, closing, and consolidation teams. Review clearance packages produced by LEs to identify key topics and produce a group synthesis. Follow up after each quarter to improve/automatize the process and increase knowledge and feedback to LEs.
- Involve in or Lead Finance Projects
- Project of redesigning the IO process in light of IFRS 17.
- Based on different topics that can occur.
- Provide Support to Business
- Support business to identify operational aspects of accounting rules that can be relevant for their decisions, in close relation with CoE (accounting treatment/impact assessments for specific contracts: alternative solution, specific operation).
- In particular, in the context of IFRS 17, provide a second level of controls regarding the production of technical notes (P&C/Life) to ensure consistency between tools/disclosures and presentation (focus on workaround process to produce rollforward for URD).
- Contribute to Management of Relationship with Auditors
- Manage the IFRS 17 PBC list associated with accounting topics.
- Contribute to and control items provided to auditors when appropriate.
- Ensure that adequate answers are provided to auditors.
Requirements
- IFRS finance reporting experience.
- Team player, collaborative spirit.
- Very good understanding of Actuarial/Risk Assessment/Financial Techniques.
- Strong knowledge of insurance/reinsurance business and principles.
- Develops high levels of credibility and accountability.
- Able to identify and summarize main issues in a clear, unambiguous, and simple language.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Education
Master degree (or above) in Finance/Audit/Controlling from Business School or strong finance and accounting background (domestic or foreign CPA). Actuarial training is a plus.
The employee needs to have spent at least 10 years in a financial department, preferably in a reinsurance or insurance entity or as external auditor, preferably in the reinsurance and/or insurance area.
