About the Position
The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team in West Bengal, India. As a specialist in Tissue Culture and Disease Diagnostic, you will work closely with our project team and partners to develop a local seed potato production system in West Bengal.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tissue culture lines to support our research goals.
- Conduct diagnostic tests for plant diseases using molecular and biochemical methods.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments and results.
- Prepare reagents, media, and other materials for laboratory work.
- Support senior researchers in data collection and analysis.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Follow laboratory safety protocols and guidelines.
Requirements
- Master's degree in biotechnology, plant science, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in tissue culture and plant disease diagnostics.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR and ELISA.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Advance written and verbal communication skills in English, Hindi, and Bengali.
- Willingsness to travel frequently within districts of West Bengal.
