Position overview
We are expanding our product development team and are looking for a Packaging Engineer. You will be responsible for the 3D package design of our Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC). Our PICs interface with optical fibers and electronic circuits (low frequency control electronics, high frequency broadband amplification electronics). The circuits are mounted on AlN substrates or on silicon or glass interposers..
Job description
- You will design the packages, liaise with our assembly partners and with the designers of the photonic and electronic circuits.
- You will draw on existing SolidWorks libraries for sub-assemblies and/or existing 3D drawings.
- You will rigorously document changes to packages.
- You will be working in an international environment and your communication and synthesis skills are key.
- Depending on your experience, you may be required to interface with customers.
Technical Qualifications
- SolidWorks expertise
- Knowledge of semiconductor circuit packaging and/or micro-optics/fiber optics assembly technologies and processes
- Understanding of mechanical, thermal and reliability constraints will be a plus
Soft skills:
- Creative and motivated to develop new solutions with hands-on attitude and willingness to take on complex technical challenges.
- Communication with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and reliability of the design from prototyping to production.
- Diplomacy, thoroughness, good synthesis skills and organisation.
Linguistic skills :
- English read, spoken, and written, minimum level C1 or equivalent.
- French read, spoken, and written, minimum level C1 or equivalent.
Professional experience in a similar position: 3 years minimum .
