Principal Data Scientist

We are looking for an experienced Principal Data Scientist to lead a team of data scientists in the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven solutions at Blue Yonder.
The focus of this role is advancing techniques for AI agents that work alongside our customers, helping them further optimize their supply chain operations.
As a key player in the Blue Yonder AI Innovation Studio, you will work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of Generative AI and machine learning in the supply chain and retail domains.
What you will do:- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists
- Provide technical vision and prioritization for AI initiatives
- Partner with engineering, product, and leadership teams on roadmap and requirements
- Design and implement AI solutions for supply chain optimization
- Make critical decisions on data architecture and model selection
- Integrate AI solutions with existing product platforms
- Advance SOTA techniques for AI agents and generative AI products for customers
- Conduct applied research in NLP, multi-modality, and reinforcement learning for supply chain
- Apply the latest research and cutting-edge techniques to real-world problems
- Identify and mitigate technical risks in AI implementations
- Present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Stay current with AI advancements, particularly in supply chain and retail domains
- Ph.D. or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- 10+ years of industry experience in data science and machine learning
- Proven track record of leading complex AI projects and solving business problems
- Strong background in NLP, transformer, and LLM architectures
- Extensive expertise in Python
- Practical experience with LLMs, generative AI, and AI agent development
- Ability to translate business problems into AI/data science solutions
- Leadership experience in mentoring data scientists and ML engineers
- Passion for innovation and staying at the forefront of AI advancements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of supply chain management concepts (bonus)
- Track record of publications or patents in AI/ML (bonus)
