Linum Consult’s client is a world leader in construction, with a diverse portfolio of business interests, which encompass the construction, transportation, civil and mining sectors. Due to continued growth within their mining operations, they are currently looking to hire a Senior Mining Engineer with experience in mine planning & operations. This role will be based in Paris, France.RESPONSIBILITIES Carrying out technical support and performance analysis for the operation’s technical teams Executing methods for operational issues and variants Analysing the production & productivity data from operational sites, benchmarking data, and challenging proposed options by site teams Conducting on-site support tasks for specific technical issues and people development Monitoring existing operations to determine suitable cost estimations for new projects Supporting the operating sites during budget phases and reviews Defining the methods and forecasting the work schedules during the call for tender phases Carrying out cost estimation for new projects PROFILE Degree qualification in Mining Engineering or similar subject, or with equivalent experience in the mining industry 15 years’ experience in mine planning and mine operations, with demonstrable experience in load & haul, D&B, and engineering Background in analysis and writing is essential, with strong IT skills in MS Office and mine planning software such as Surpac, Deswik, and/or Micromine Spry Previous history of carrying out budgeting or cost estimation tasks would be advantageous Fluent in spoken and written English (French is a plus), with the right to live and work in the EU
