(GDI) is a Montréal-based, public company of integrated omni-channel brands, designing and distributing accessible, trend-forward fashion for women since 1975.Our mission of "Empowering YOU to be YOU, one outfit at a time" is brought to life through the GARAGE and DYNAMITE banners and represents the consumer-centric core of GDI's long-standing success as a leading retailer in North America.Today, GDI operates nearly 300 stores across Canada and the United States, as well as shoppable brand experiences at Garageclothing.com and Dynamiteclothing.com.Job Summary:Reporting to the Sr. Taxation Director, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of all aspects of corporate income tax compliance and ongoing cross-functional business projects. This will ensure that the company remains compliant with income tax rules and regulations across multiple jurisdictions. This role focuses on high-level management with both internal and external parties.Main Responsibilities:Prepare, review, and consolidate the group's quarterly and annual tax provisions;Coordinate and compile documentation for Canadian, US, and UK income tax compliance;Assist the Sr. Taxation Director with various tax planning projects in Canada and overseas;Participate in cross-functional business projects;Ensure that documentation and compliance processes are efficient while respecting internal control standards;Respond to tax inquiries and communicate with tax authorities on a regular basis;Support ongoing projects related to international expansion;Liaise with and supervise external consultants on a regular basis;Lead process improvement initiatives related to tax compliance and reporting;Perform analyses and write permanent memoranda to document business decisions and their tax impacts.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting;CPA designation is a strong asset;5 +years of experience in tax;Experience in corporate tax compliance, with a solid understanding of multi-jurisdictional tax regulations is an asset;Completion of CICA's "In Depth Tax Course" is a plus;Knowledge of Vertex, Inc. is a plus;Highly organized and efficient;Business acumen, a passionate personality, and excellent analytical skills;Strong communication skills;Sense of initiative and leadership;Ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and external advisors;Ability to work in a team with other tax professionals;Interest for process improvement and demonstrated innovation;Bilingualism (French and English) is required to consult with multiple tax jurisdictions.At GDI, you will be part of a growing organization that understands the importance of investing in people and offers you:A comprehensive compensation package that includes performance-driven bonuses;A group retirement savings program with employer matching;Flexible group insurance with personalized coverage that meets your needs;An employee discount at Garage and Dynamite;Exclusive private sample sales;A flexible vacation policy;And moreGDI has been repeatedly voted one of Montréal's Top Employers and one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People.Our promise...No day will be like the last-we aim to be better today than we were yesterday.
