Clinical Education Specialist

ROLE PURPOSE
The purpose of this role is to ensure Cynosure customers receive world-class clinical training and support to empower them to provide safe and effective laser and energy-based aesthetic treatments to patients with Cynosure devices, maintaining Cynosure’s reputation as the market leader and industry pioneer while remaining bottom-line focused.
Strategic Role Responsibilities
- Empower customers to be confident and competent in their understanding of Cynosure technologies and their ability to deliver safe and effective treatments to their patients.
- Build relationships with key opinion leaders to improve own knowledge of treatment techniques, combinations, and approaches to aesthetic medicine.
- Stay abreast of new publications, product launches, and current guidelines within the industry to maintain Cynosure’s reputation as the market leader.
- Familiarize self with competitive landscape to enable confident and informed discussions with customers.
Operational Role Responsibilities
- Deliver theoretical and practical training on Cynosure products and supporting information related to aesthetic medicine.
- Schedule regular follow-up with customers to ensure they are utilizing the device to its full potential, while identifying opportunities to upsell.
- Communicate protocol and guidance updates to customers.
- Train clinic administrative/front-of-house staff to successfully promote treatments and upsell.
- Facilitate clinic open days and promotional events to drive brand awareness.
- Assist sales colleagues with product demos, using clinical knowledge to influence opinion with a view to closing deals.
- Prepare weekly visit summaries identifying customers’ further learning needs and opportunities for new leads.
- Attend and provide clinical support at national events and conferences.
- Support marketing team to ensure material is aligned with approved clinical guidelines.

- Sets and monitors high standards for quality, leads methodical systems that result in customer
- Communicate with supervisor regarding issues that may need addressing and offer potential solutions to address these issues.
- Share suggestions with supervisor that can improve current training practices and material.
- Attend meetings with supervisor and colleagues to remain up-to-date and aligned on departmental strategy and performance.

- Maintain positive, supportive relationships with customers to strengthen their trust and preference towards Cynosure.
- Assess the target audience’s level of knowledge and understanding and adapt training accordingly.
- Be prompt in responding to customers’ problems and queries to provide solutions and advice as per clinical reference guide and company guidelines.
- Stay in touch with sales colleagues to remain up to date on strong leads and current projects to identify where clinical input could create a positive impact.
FUNCTIONAL EXPERTISE
- Scientific and medical background (i.e. physician, nurse, bioengineer, etc.)
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the skin including its response to lasers and energy-based devices, topical cosmeceuticals, and other modalities of aesthetic and dermatology treatments.
- Knowledge of basic laser physics.
- Extensive hands-on experience in a clinical setting using lasers and energy-based devices.
- Proven record of selling capital equipment, or at the very least selling products and treatment packages to patients within a clinic setting.
- Strong presentation skills with experience in providing clinical training to physicians, nurses, and laser technicians.
- Must be able to travel by car or air to visit clients, with overnight stays where necessary.
- Experience using Microsoft Office.

Qualifications (Select the minimum qualifications required for this position to successfully achieve business requirements)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Education and experience combination:
- Associate’s degree is equivalent to 18 months of experience
- Bachelor’s degree is equivalent to three (3) years of experience
- Master’s degree is equivalent to four (4) years of experience
