**Summary**

Ansys Discovery is used across many industries e.g.; optimizing surgical solutions for quicker patient recovery, shape and weight optimization for 3D printing, fluid/thermal performance management of electrical and mechanical automotive systems

In this position you will be part of a highly motivated international and diverse team of engineers, mathematicians and computer scientists who work to innovate and extend the Discovery capabilities both on the desktop and in the cloud. You will operate under general supervision but will have a reasonable amount of discretion to take independent action. Your role will be to strengthen and define architectural concepts of a physics and mathematics engine in collaboration with a team of physics experts. The overall goal of your responsibilities will be to enable and maintain high efficiency teamwork and take part in a fast-growing project through ANSYS products.

**Responsibilities**
- Strengthen and define architectural concepts of mathematical / physics engine
- Provide development support to help a team of physics experts to deliver high quality algorithms
- Refactor code as necessary to create a scalable development ecosystem
- Improve software development process with tools and best practices
- Understand, employ and maintain best software practices through unit testing, design and code review
- Works under the general supervision of a development manager

**Minimum qualifications**
- BS/MSc in computer science or equivalent software programming related program
- Passion for software development in C++
- Demonstrate experience in object-oriented language, API design and architectural design
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Driven and willing to learn
- Strong communication skills
- Energy, creativity, and a desire to succeed in a team of expert for complex problem solving

**Preferred qualifications**
- Good understanding of scientific computing and numerical methods
- Knowledge of or experience with Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of or experience with DevOps processes and tools
- Knowledge of or experience with Python
- Knowledge of or experience with GPU programming
