The AIU is looking for an Investigator - Anti-Doping to play a critical role in the investigations of potential violations of anti-doping rules in International Athletics. This role is responsible for working largely autonomously, under direction of the AIU's Manager of Anti-Doping Investigations, to conduct objective, fact-finding investigations into potential violations of anti-doping rules in International Athletics. The Investigator works collaboratively with the Case Management Department to investigative potential non-analytical anti-doping rule violations with a view to bringing prosecutable cases forward, and to support the prosecution of cases as requested by the Case Management Department. AIU anti-doping investigations consist of the full-range of investigative activities, including suspect/witness interviewing, open-source intelligence, evidence collection and assessment, physical and digital forensic evidence collection and assessment. The Investigator also contributes to the AIU's Strategic Projects work to ensure the AIU remains best-placed to tackle emerging threat to International Athletics, and may be tasked with working across the full range of sports integrity issues investigated by the AIU should prioritisation and resourcing dictate.

World Athletics is the International Federation for the sport of Athletics. Its role is to promote and develop the sport of athletics as well as protecting its integrity worldwide. In April 2017, World Athletics launched the Athletics Integrity Unit (“AIU”), which is responsible for the implementation of World Athletics’ anti-doping and integrity programmes globally.

In 2019, World Athletics established a framework of anti-doping requirements for its 214 Member Federations, designed to ensure that strong and effective anti-doping programmes in Athletics are in place at domestic level and to create greater accountability of National Federations. World Athletics has asked the AIU to monitor, evaluate and report on National Federations’ compliance with their anti-doping obligations under World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Objective investigation of potential violations of anti-doping rules within International Athletics, including:

- Effective planning of investigative steps, including the identification of potential avenues of evidence collection and how to obtain such evidence within applicable rules, regulations and policy frameworks.
- Conduct witness and suspect evidence-collection interviews.
- Plan and conduct open-source intelligence collection and assessment, prioritising evidence to support prosecutable cases.
- Task digital and physical forensic evidence collection when appropriate and within applicable rules, regulations and policy frameworks.
- Task and manage third-party (region and/or capability specific) investigative consultants.
- Draft investigative reports for internal and external consumption.
- Work collaboratively with relevant AIU internal partners.
- Collaboratively build prosecutable anti-doping cases with the AIU's Case Management Department.
- Assist in the transition from intelligence reporting to disclosable evidence material in pursuit of prosecutable anti-doping cases.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the AIU's relevant investigative policies and practices.
- Liaise with other anti-doping organisations and law enforcement agencies to pursue joint investigative opportunities and enhance information sharing.
- Work within, and influence the enhancement of, the AIU's information management systems.
- Represent the AIU on relevant expert working groups, conferences and other public forums as required.
- Ensure I&I effective working relationships with all departments and teams within the AIU.
- Maintain and develop effective working relationships with external stakeholders in anti-doping, including law enforcement agencies, government departments, border forces, international sports entities and doping control providers.
- Additional duties as required by AIU management.

**Skills and experience**:

- Extensive experience in planning and conducting investigations into violations of specific rules and regulations, including contributing to the development and refinement of policies and procedures guiding such.
- Experience bringing investigative cases to prosecution status through relevant courts, tribunals or other regulated disciplinary bodies.
- Excellent investigative, intelligence and analytical skills.
- Experience in working collaboratively with intelligence and/or legal partners to convert intelligence repor
