Our Trading Assistant teams supports our sales and/or trading desks across all asset classes. They are notably responsible for trade capture and resolving trade discrepancies. The team also liaises between trading, trade support, sales, counterparties, counterparty credit, operations, and compliance. This function is also involved in the introduction and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new initiatives, systems, and process improvements to increase efficiency and enhance controls. This role requires product knowledge of financial instruments relevant to the area supported and across related asset classes.

**Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with senior desk heads, compliance, supervision, and counterparty credit risk to ensure procedures are compliant and up to date
- Leverage understanding of the performance drivers for the GBAM businesses to create value add analysis and drive strategic insights
- Oversee sales assistant functions including trade capture, client onboarding and documentation, customer due diligence, AML refresh, counterparty credit limits, regulatory change management, reporting and analytics, and client relationship management
- Provide support to the front office Commodities trading desk
- Advise on position adjustments and/or discrepancies
- Responsible for trade capture/reporting
- Track and verify trades and checks accuracy of processed trades
- Perform a liaison function between originators and traders
- Update the front office on prices and or yields and market movement
- Handle support request from clients and traders
- Assist in sales and trading activity

**The team**

The Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (FICC) & Derivative Core Operations (FDCO) team perform end to end trade control, confirmation, and settlements processes across FICC businesses and provides utility OTC derivative confirmation and settlement services for non FICC businesses.

Within FDCO, the teams provide multiple services such as FICC trade control, Foreign Exchange (FX) electronic matching and settlement, Over the Counter (OTC) derivative confirmation and settlement, and commodities operations.

**What we are looking for**
- Thorough understanding of the Bank's activities and of Fixed Income Commodities and Currency (FICC) products, including knowledge of credit, loans and bank debt.
- Familiarity with documentation and other requirements (regulatory, credit, AML, static data needs) for trading various FICC products
- Strong sense of urgency with ability to multi-task heavily
- Familiarity with trade capture, client onboarding, and credit risk systems a plus
- Comfort speaking with clients, senior business heads, auditors, and regulators.
- Ability to handle client escalations delicately
- Prior experience in similar role with Commodities products and trading floor experience or in operations.
- Knowledge of financial instruments relevant to Commodities products and related asset classes.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience managing several trading books
- Ability to anticipate the propositioning of future client demand
