Director Public Affairs Strategic Communications

**ROLE CONTEXT**

Our Strategic Communications division in Paris is currently seeking a Director in France in the Public and Government Affairs (PGA) Practice, possibly with a strong focus on one of our key sectors: Healthcare & Life Sciences, Energy, Technologies, or Financial Services.

We help our clients create sustainable relationships with policy makers, interest groups, industry, and the media. You will be involved in conceiving and delivering solutions in areas that could include advocacy on pieces of legislation, intelligence gathering, policy and impact analysis, strategy engagement shaping with governments to support building the right context and profile with regulatory and political stakeholders.

As a director you will provide strategic advice to a portfolio of clients, manage accounts on a day-to-day basis, develop excellent relationships with client groups and guide junior colleagues in their professional practice. Own client relationships with limited senior supervision; creatively preparing and delivering the client programme.

You will support the ongoing development and growth of the PGA practice and will be associated to the definition of the business development strategy in general in France.

This role is based in Paris with our flexible hybrid working arrangement in place.

**RESPONSABILITIES**
- Provide expert communications and/or advocacy counsel to clients in line with their respective business priorities.
- Support the growth of the Public and Government Affairs portfolio.
- Thought leadership, develop and maintain relationships with trade associations, journalists/media outlets, think tanks and relevant industry leaders.
- Manage overall quality and delivery of work on multiple accounts in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Work collaboratively with teams across France as well as peers in the EMEA region and across the world on complex client communications challenges.
- Enhance the consulting capabilities of the team, recruiting, mentoring and coaching colleagues when required.

You will be part of a dynamic and multinational team of experts based in Paris and you will be able to work closely with other FTI offices and segments in Brussels, London, Madrid, Berlin, Washington....

**CAPABILITIES**
- Excellent understanding and experience of working with policymakers and stakeholders in France to develop strategic objectives, and knowledge of one or several sector regulations and policy discussions.
- Expertise in legislative and regulatory issues impacting corporations and knowledge of the competitive landscape surrounding corporations in the space.
- Experience in advising corporate internal or external clients on Public Affairs and policy related topics, executing Public Affairs, Government relations and advocacy strategies.
- Track record of working collaboratively with internal and external senior stakeholders.
- Experience working in complex, matrix environments, working with multicultural stakeholders and colleagues.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching colleagues, supporting their development as well as the growth of the business.
- Fluency in French and English.
