As a Data Architect in our Card Issuing & Processing division, you'll shape the technical foundation of payment systems that process millions of transactions daily across multiple continents.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll architect the data systems powering credit, debit, and virtual card products. You'll work with complex data flows between core banking systems, international payment networks, and our processing platforms, ensuring they meet the highest standards of security and performance.

Your expertise will be crucial in designing scalable architectures that can handle thousands of transactions per second while maintaining strict compliance with financial regulations and security standards. You'll collaborate directly with engineering teams to implement robust data solutions, optimize performance, and introduce new payment capabilities to market.

**Day-to-Day Responsibilities**
- Build and optimize cloud-native data platforms using modern data engineering practices, supporting real-time processing and advanced AI/ML capabilities.
- Drive data platform convergence through hands-on prototyping and implementation, ensuring scalability while maintaining operational excellence.
- Collaborate with product teams to transform business requirements into practical data solutions, leveraging both engineering and data science expertise.
- Implement data quality frameworks and monitoring using modern tooling, enabling self-service analytics and machine learning capabilities.

**Who Are We Looking For**

- Proven experience in data architecture and hands-on data engineering, with 4+ years building large-scale data platforms in financial services.
- Technical background in cloud data technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP), modern data engineering tools, and experience implementing data pipelines at scale.
- Understanding of payment processing systems combined with practical experience in data modelling and real-time transaction processing.
- Proven track record implementing data platforms with experience in both batch and streaming architectures, and optionally AI/ML capabilities
- Strong coding skills in Python/Java, SQL, and data engineering frameworks, with experience in DevOps practices and infrastructure as code.
- Natural problem-solver with proven ability to lead technical initiatives, communicate complex concepts, and influence cross-functional stakeholders in international context.
- Self-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, passionate about innovation and maintaining hands-on involvement in technical implementation.
