Accounting Specialist

accounting team. The role will include working across multiple international jurisdictions. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of an organization’s financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

- Record Financial Transactions

Record and categorize financial transactions in accounting software.

Assist with fixed asset entries

Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and relevant regulations.

Resolve financial discrepancies as they arise
- Accounts payable:
Review and process vendor invoices and expense reports

Prepare and process payments to vendors

Monitor and manage accounts payable reports
- Bank Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy

Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Financial reporting:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.

Generate financial reports and statements as needed for management and regulatory purposes
- Payroll processing:
Assist HR with payroll processing and payments

Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and maintain accurate records.
- General Ledger:
Assist with month end and year end closing procedures
- Compliance and Regulations:
Processing tax payments and returns

Stay up to date with accounting standards, laws, and regulations.

Ensure compliance with all applicable financial and tax regulations.
- Documentation and filing:
Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.

Assist with internal and external audits, as necessary.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- familiarity with financial software, SAGE FRP preferred
- Specific duties and qualifications may vary depending on the organizations needs.
- Fluency in French and English required
