Based in Grenoble and Dunkirk (France), we have recently started operations our Verkor Innovation Centre (R&D centre and 4.0 pilot line).
We now focus on building the world’s most modern and efficient Gigafactory in Dunkirk (France). With this facility, our ambition is an initial annual production of 16 Gwh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, thus powering 300,000 electric vehicles annually.

**About this role**:
- We are currently looking for a Logistics Process Control Engineer to join our Process Development team based in our gigafactory near Dunkirk, north of France.
- As such, you lead on the control systems which monitor the Formation process—the final step in the battery manufacturing process.
- The role will take full ownership of the project from designing the control systems at Verkor's Gigafactory, validating the design and development of the software, implementation/testing at the Gigafactory, and finally training and technical support.
- You are embracing the objective of building and structuring Verkor as the most advanced battery manufacturing company in the world.
**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate closely with external control system vendors during the design review process, ensuring alignment with factory requirements and standards.
- Work with the control system vendors to define and configure control strategies, including route planning, recipe management, and data collection, to optimize battery production efficiency.
- Oversee the software development and integration process, ensuring timely and efficient implementation of control systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, including hardware and software components, in coordination with the external vendor to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
- Be on-site at the factory to lead validation and testing activities for the control systems, working closely with the factory teams.
- Provide comprehensive training to production and maintenance teams on the use and maintenance of control systems to ensure efficient utilization.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system specifications, operating procedures, and change control records.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of control systems and keep up with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a control system engineer in an industrial setting, preferably in battery manufacturing or a similar process-intensive environment.
- Proficiency in control system software, including but not limited to Wonderware, Ignition, or Siemens WinCC.
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming and configuration, especially with Allen-Bradley or Siemens controllers.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and Ethernet/IP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail for diagnosing and resolving control system issues.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with external control system vendors and cross-functional teams and convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certification in SCADA-related technologies or industrial automation is a plus.
