The policy environment and government relations are some of the key factors determining the pace of roll-out of fast charging infrastructure in France. As Public Affairs Manager France you help to shape the French policy system, at both national and regional level, to ensure that the roll-out of fast charging infrastructure can accelerate and operate in an optimal environment. You will be part of a big international and mission-driven public affairs team that is very motivated to bring a positive change to Europe’s policy environment to the benefit of electric mobility. You will lead our public affairs efforts in France, and within the French team your insights will contribute to shaping the strategy for Fastned’s business in France. The French government has set ambitious targets for the deployment of charging infrastructure and Fastned’s business is growing rapidly. This means that you will need to be able to adapt quickly, show entrepreneurship and leadership together with colleagues from the Paris office to scale up Fastned’s charging network in France.
**What does success look like?**
- You effectively influence the policy making process to create the right conditions to accelerate the roll-out of fast charging infrastructure.
- You take a leadership role within the French team and will have an important stake in creating new business opportunities for Fastned in France.
- You are able to flexibly work with different layers of the French government, from national to regional governments.
- You embed the understanding of the role and need for fast charging infrastructure in the transition to electric driving in the institutional and public perception.
- You have a clear overview of the different policy processes under development in the government and you participate in the relevant working groups and policy development processes.
- You will help fill our development pipeline with public tenders and locations.

We are looking for someone who ticks the following boxes:

- Strong motivation to accelerate the energy transition.
- Masters degree.
- Mid-to senior-level experience within French companies, industry associations, consumer groups, standards organizations and/or governments.
- Strong network among relevant French stakeholders, including national and local-level policy makers.
- Ability to speak with gravitas at the highest levels (e.g. ministers).
- Ambition, resourcefulness, entrepreneurship and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interest in technical and commercial aspects of the business.
- You are fluent in French and have a good level of English.
- Knowledge of the EV market policies and regulations concerning EV charging infrastructure in France is considered a plus.
