**Our Business Group Faurecia Interiors**, which develops and produces dashboards, center consoles, cockpit and door panels, is looking for a **Metal Components & Cross Car Beam confirmed Engineer **for its **Méru R & D Center (Hauts-de-France**).

He will be the referent in Metal Components & Cross Car Beam domain in an international environment. He/she will provide technical support by offering his product and process expertise on several projects and from innovation stages of product design to implementation of manufacturing line. International trips will be necessary to support the project teams.

**Reports To**:Global Domain Team Leader Instrument Panel Systems

**Position Summary**:The PLTE Engineer is responsible for being the technical reference for his/her Technology domain, based upon the 4 PLTE missions conveyed in this job description. The overall job scope for this role includes strong interaction and communication with internal and external (OEM/Suppliers) engineering, working groups, and other Faurecia BG’s.

**Responsibilities**:

- ** Build the Technology roadmap through internal and external benchmark, innovation drive and Strategic Plan fueling**
- Understand Product & Process market in collaboration with benchmarking, marketing etc.
- Evaluate and analyze Technology solutions (Faurecia Technology portfolio, OEMs & competitors).
- Identify Best practices & contribute to identify market needs.
- Be aware of the key patents for the Technology (Faurecia Technology portfolio, OEM & competitors).
- Identify and analyze key gaps between the Technology domain portfolio and the market needs (from product line department). Contribute to reduce these gaps through the actions plans of the Technology Roadmap (innovation projects and technology roadmap projects).
- Contribute to identify and develop Technology Breakthrough.
- Support innovation engineers to validate the robustness of the innovations (product & process performance)
- Contribute to the Technology review.

Create and Maintain standards including lessons learned and capitalization**
- Create standards for FIS Technology portfolio and according to Technology roadmap in collaboration with other departments.
- Improve standards based on feedback from plant & project (lessons learned, compliance to standards, scraps, TRS, tuning cost, alerts ).
- **
Promote and deploy the Technology portfolio of standards from acquisition to serial life.**
- Support Customer Engineering in the promotion of the Faurecia standards towards the OEMs.
- Assess standards compliance during project life & agree on action plan if deviation.
- Attend the design review and evaluate product & process technical maturity and agree the action plan with the program team when needed.
- **
Develop the Technology competencies within FIS, animating networks and technical trainings**
- Contribute to identify new technical training needs, and accordingly create and update training courses with the referent trainer(s)
- Train the people through Technology Academy courses (for the selected PLTE)
- Develop internal and external Technology networks through participation to technical exhibitions & forums, development of the relationships with OEM, supplier counterparts and FIS Experts & Specialists.

**Position Specifications**

Hard skills:

- Experimented in the design and feasibility of structural components in car interior, more specifically inside our product portfolios of instrument panels, door panel, center console systems.
- Strong know how on the design and feasibility of metal parts (steel, aluminum, magnesium), and related industrial processes (stamping, die casting, welding, fastening, related surface treatment technologies, etc )
- Able to understand, and feedback, do counterproposals, on adjoining technologies and surrounding parts on his/her technology domains.
- Able to define specifications for suppliers on the purchasing of metal components
- Able to define the specifications for equipment needed to produce metal parts (Cross Car Beam welding cells, etc. )

Soft skills:

- Intermediate to proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
- Comfortable with utilization of digital tools
- Usage of design for feasibility software such as Autoform, would be a plus.
