_**Cherry Biotech’s mission**_

Cherry Biotech’s mission is to provide the **most advanced technological platform for predicting the impact of compounds** (e.g. drug, endocrine disruptors, cosmetic) on the human body **to better treat pathologies and predict undesired effects**. The platform aims to be the best alternative to ineffective animal models by combining novel microfluidic technologies, artificial intelligence, and the most advanced imaging techniques.

We are now at the development stage of our company. CubiX, our main product, is in a pre-sales phase and we are now offering service activities. We are also involved in several international scientific collaborations which allow us to keep ahead of our competitors, to test our devices with top-notch scientific support and to further explore new potential innovations to integrate into our current and future products.

**Context**

Organs-on-chip or microphysiological systems (MPS), have the potential to increase the speed of discovery of new treatments and replace animal models. At Cherry we developed a new device, CubiX, that has the power to control physical parameters of the cellular environment.

**Mission**

In our biological facility, a relevant part of the work is represented by service activities. In this context, you will learn how to build complex and advanced organs-on-chip models and contribute to generate high quality experiments and reports.

Your main tasks during the internship:

- Assist and perform experiments in a quality control setting
- Generate high quality data, analyze and interpret data
- Communicate results through reports and oral presentations
- Participate in other lab activities

Main skills expected to be acquired at the end of the Cherry experience:

- Develop a good theoretical and practical knowledge about advanced in vitro models and MPS (micro physiological systems)
- Perform experiments in a quality controlled laboratory
- Improve your technical and problem solving skills
- Plan and organize experiments, deal with time management and communication of results in a precise and clear manner
- Be a team player and work in an international environment

What we’re looking for:

- Students enrolled in Cell Biology/Biotechnology/biomedical studies
- Previous experience(s) in a biology laboratory is highly appreciated but not mandatory
- Fluent English speaker and good writing skills mandatory
- Rigorous, meticulous and well organized
- Perseverant and flexible
