Job Overview

To supervise and maintain the dining room service meeting MOD and company requirements to the highest standards both for daily requirements and functions. Display customer care with a strong emphasis on service delivery. Will maintain high standards of personal presentation. Ensure that all Health and Safety and COSHH regulations pertinent to the position are met.

Job objectives and responsibilities
- To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and presentation conducive to a front of house environment.
- To provide the highest standard of dining room service (of both food and beverage) as directed by the Soft Services Operations Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining room, bar and associated areas by completing all tasks allocated on the cleaning schedule.
- To supervise food and beverage services at the OSM functions and at all other locations agreed by the authority i.e. Airhead VIP lounge and Base Commander's residence.
- To supervise and mentor your team in function preparation and execution, be that formal or informal functions.
- To supervise the correct use, storage, and control of machinery, equipment, cleaning materials and chemicals and consumables, ensuring that safe systems of work are followed at all times.
- Report defects, issues and faults to the Help desk and line manager, encourage your team to do be proactive in this process.
- Ensure that tables are laid and that clearance is effective ensuring that the dining environment is clean and free from debris and dirty crockery at all times.
- To ensure that the replenishment of condiments, bread rolls, tea and coffee etc is maintained throughout meal service.
- To ensure all condiments are replenished daily.
- To ensure OSM crockery, cutlery, EPNS cutlery and table Silver is checked for cleanliness before and after use and accounted for after every use.
- Compliance to the Health and Safety Act, Food Safety Act and COSHH regulations.
- Maintenance of the company Quality Control Procedures.
- To develop your own skills within the scope of this position.
- Be familiar and comply with the Company's Health & Safety policy and procedures.
- Conduct Toolbox talks with your team
- Generate a monthly work rota in consultation with your team
- Produce, sign off and collate for auditing all cleaning schedules

Main duties
- Supervise your team of stewards to ensure the best possible service is delivered to all customers using the Combined mess, and all other venues where catering has been agreed.
- Ensure yourself and your team are fully compliant with all necessary training
- Ensure your team follow all company Health and Safety guidelines, and be proactive in ensuring yourself and your teams are working in a safe environment
- Conduct quality checks on workmanship and safety within your team and visiting work service technicians and address any arising issues.
- Monitor the timekeeping of your team and action any failures
- Remain flexible

Mitie will pay a salary, monthly site allowance and a bonus at 13 and 27 month of tour. Hours of work are 47.5 per week. The contract duration is 27 months unaccompanied with 74 days leave excluding weekends. Air transport for agreed holiday periods will be at Company's expense. Free accommodation, meals at mess and work clothing will be provided.
