**2. Description of the department**
The structured and securitized origination team is part of the Alternative Credit department which manages more than €50Bn in assets. The ILS team, part of the structured and securitized origination team, is made of 4 investment individuals and is responsible for managing Insurance Linked Securities (ILS) strategies in various instruments (Cat Bonds, Industry Loss Warranties, Sidecars...).

**3. The main responsibilities of the role**

Assistance to the ILS team in monitoring natural catastrophes and analyzing the exposure of counterparties to these events.

The main tasks will be:

- **For the analysis of the cat bonds**: perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on insurance linked securies (cat bonds) in the primary market and organize investment committees with ILS team, risk management and traders. Monitor secondary market activities to look for the potential investment opportunity.
- **For the pricing of the instruments**: selecting a pool of similar assets, use the selected pool of assets to price the new deal
- **For the natural catastrophes**:getting characteristics of the events and losses for the (re)insurers and the market using webscrapping, text mining, NLP... to extract the information, format it and import it in the front office tool called Ouranos. This could be done with R and/or Python.
- **For the monitoring of ILS instruments**: getting reports (for example reset reports) using webscrapping, extract the data (text mining, NLP...), perform data cleaning and formatting using various inputs. This could be done with R and/or Python.
- Enhance the ESG questionnaires sent to the counterparties
- Improve the scope of the Sustainability Risks and the methodology applied on ILS instruments
- Comparing internal and external score to improve our methodology

**Education/Qualifications**
- University or Engineering/Actuarial school degree from a top institution with background in Math, Physics, Finance, Actuarial or Computer/Data Science

**Experience**
- Proven quantitative analysis experience gained in an insurance, asset management or financial markets environment

**Competencies**
- Excellent communications and presentation skills
- Team player, multi-tasking and ability to work under pressure, very thorough mind and capacity for synthesizing
- Fluent in English
- Agile in data management (R, Python, VBA)
- Curious
- Rigorous
