Data Modeler

In the frame of the ongoing transformation at Group level, technology adoption and implementation are key success factors, as well as processes transition. As a member of DDPO, **Data Modeler will design & develop entreprise data models through the enterprise ontology. **He will work in close collaboration with data product managers & data engineers to build the core objects at the backbone of data & digital products.

The Data Modeler is responsible for:

- Designing & developing data models & ontology
- Animating data modeling chapter
- Implemeting data quality & governance policies

The Data Modeler needs to:

- Be problem-solving oriented with strong analytical thinking
- Be autonomous and rigorous in the way he/she approaches technical challenges
- Advise on the architecture of end-to-end data flows
- Collaborate with various stakeholders (product owners, solution owners, data solution analysts, developers, technical leads, architects) to deliver data artefacts in a team spirit
- Commit and bring his/her skills to contribute to the success of the Group

Under the responsibility of the Head of Data Delivery & Engineering, your mission will encompass:
**1.Data Modeling**:

- Design and develop effective and efficient data models to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure the integrity and quality of the data model.

**2.Design, evolve and maintain ontology in Foundry from Palantir**:

- Work with the Foundry platform from Palantir to model and structure data for optimal use within the organization.
- Leverage Foundry's capabilities to enhance data modeling processes and support data-driven decision-making.

**3.Collaboration with Tech and Enterprise Architects**:

- Work closely with the Tech and Enterprise Architecture teams as part of the dedicated chapter.
- Collaborate on the alignment of data models with broader technology and enterprise architecture strategies.

**4.Chapter Participation**:

- Actively participate in the dedicated chapter for Data Modeling, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Collaborate with peers to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and the adoption of industry best practices.

**5.Data Quality and Governance**:

- Implement and adhere to data quality standards and governance policies.
- Collaborate with data stewards and data governance teams to ensure compliance with data management policies.

**Required experience & competencies**
- 7+ years of experience as a data modeler, data oriented mindset.
- Proven experience as a Data Modeler, with a focus on designing and implementing effective data models.
- Familiarity with the Foundry platform from Palantir and experience leveraging it for data modeling activities.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with Tech and Enterprise Architects.
- Knowledge of data quality principles and data governance best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of (Re)insurance industry and / or Financial Services is a plus
- Awareness on data management and data privacy topics

Technical Skills:

- Good level in Pyspark or SQL
- Good knowledge of data architecture patterns
- Good knowledge in decisional data modeling (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault concepts ) and associated good practices (slowly changing dimensions, point in time tables, chasM/Fan trap management, change data capture management )
- Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines (AzureDevOps, Jenkins, Artifactory, Azure Container Registry )
- Knowledge of reporting tools is a plus (Tableau, Power BI )

**Required Education**
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software or computer engineering, applied math, physics, statistics, or a related field or equivalent experience
