**Job Summary**
At Charles River Laboratories our mission is to help create healthier lives. We’re looking for a Scientific Portfolio Specialist (F/M) to support our Microbial Account Managers to achieve defined business targets and to work cohesively as a team to provide excellent service to clients. You will be responsible for supporting quarterly and annual sales targets for assigned product line and services in a designated geographical region. In addition, you will have to provide technical guidance in support of the Account Management, Marketing and Product Management.
This is an ideal opportunity for microbiological QC lab managers and experienced microbiological QC scientists as well as for successful Account Managers with experience in the pharmaceutical market.
- Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Your expertise will play a crucial role in driving our sales success and fostering strong relationships with customers and industry stakeholders. In this role, you will:
- Assist Account Management with presenting global capabilities : support lead qualification and closing new business opportunities by providing scientific support during customer teleconference calls, field visits and at scientific trade shows.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to support customers and the Account Management teams.
- Establish regular interface and communication with the Account Management team to relay shared goals and targets; develop co-strategies to achieve defined targets; and work cohesively as a team to provide excellence in service to clients.
- Work with Account Management team to generate major account specific sales strategies to close opportunities.
- Support management team in partnering with operational senior leadership to drive and design tactics, strategy and decision-making for new and existing products.
- Collaborate with Product Management to support product introductions and life cycle management.
- Gather data on potential customers in the designated geographic region to help shape sales strategies and tactics.
- Build relationships with customers to influence the acceptance and use of company products and services.
- Build relationships with industry organizations and engage in discussions with industry opinion leaders.
- Participate in the design, development and implementation of training programs.
- Utilize CRM to capture customer information.
- Participate and assume support role in national and international tradeshows.
- Participate in and contribute to sales meetings as required.
- Complete all required sales documentation in a timely manner.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
**Job Qualifications**
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in microbiology.
Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
Speaking another European language is a strong asset (French, German or Italian).
**Comments**:
This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in Central Europe.
It requires regular travel, that might be done by car. A valid driver’s license is required.
