**IREX Europe** doing business as **ERIM (Equal Rights & Independent Media)** is a non-profit organization based in Lyon, France. We provide innovative programs to promote human rights, strengthen independent media and civil society organizations and empower individuals through developing critical thinking skills, enabling them to take informed decisions and claiming their rights. The ERIM approach emphasizes partnerships with local development organizations to expand capacity, build sustainable institutions and affect change through training, partnerships, education, research and grant programs.

**Responsibilities**:
Under the supervision of the Head of Finance, the principal responsibilities include but would not be limited to:
**1)** **Financial analysis**:

- Monitor project expenditures and provide project managers with regular and consistent information
- Support and work in close collaboration with the PM the project managers in verifying partners’ financial reports
- Preparation of financial reports in accordance with donor requirements
- Assistance in budget preparation and proofreading of project documents
- Preparing quarterly financial reviews
- Providing help to partners on financial matters when relevant

**2)** **Finance & Accounting**:

- Preparation of and assistance in annual audit and project audits
- Bank management including accounts payable, receivable
- Expense reports

**3)** **Administration**:

- Administrative tasks linked to the NGO environment
- Support team members on administrative matters
- Help Head of Finance with punctual administrative tasks

**Essential minimum qualifications and experience**:

- Diploma in finance
- At least 2 years of related work experience
- Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Financial report verification and budget tracking experience
- Strong written and spoken English and French
- The position requires a self-starter with plenty of initiative and the ability to multi-task.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds
- The right to live and work in France is mandatory

**The following criteria will be considered as an advantage**:

- Previous experience in an international NGO
- Knowledge of the accountancy system Quadra or any equivalent system
- Willingness to travel internationally

**Contract conditions**:

- Fixed term contract of 12 months at full time (37 hours per week), with the opportunity for renewal.
- Salary according to the ERIM salary scale: between **2,750 euros and 2,925 euros** brut depending on your experience.
- Job based in Lyon, France, with occasional international travel.
