Principal Data Scientist

We are looking for an experienced Principal Data Scientist to lead a team of data scientists & in the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven solutions at Blue Yonder.

The focus of this role is advancing techniques for AI agents that work alongside our customers helping them further optimize their supply chain operations.

As a key player in the Blue Yonder AI Innovation Studio, you will work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of Generative AI and machine learning in the supply chain and retail domains.

What you will do:
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists- Provide technical vision and prioritization for AI initiatives- Partner with engineering, product, and leadership teams on roadmap and requirements- Design and implement AI solutions for supply chain optimization- Make critical decisions on data architecture and model selection- Integrate AI solutions with existing product platforms- Advance SOTA techniques for AI agents and generative AI products for customers- Conduct applied research in NLP, multi-modality, and reinforcement learning for supply chain-
- Identify and mitigate technical risks in AI implementations- Present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders- Stay current with AI advancements, particularly in supply chain and retail domains

What we are looking for:
- Ph.D. or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field- 10+ years of industry experience in data science and machine learning- Proven track record of leading complex AI projects and solving business problems- Strong background in NLP, transformer, and LLM architectures- Extensive expertise in Python- Practical experience with LLMs, generative AI, and AI agent development- Ability to translate business problems into AI/data science solutions- Leadership experience in mentoring data scientists and ML engineers- Passion for innovation and staying at the forefront of AI advancements- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Knowledge of supply chain management concepts (bonus)- Track record of publications or patents in AI/ML (bonus)
