Breaking News Correspondent

Reuters is looking for a French-speaking journalist with a passion for financial news to join the Breaking News Hub in our vibrant Paris newsroom.

**About the Role**

As a Breaking News Correspondent specialised in financial services and markets you will:

- Cover news related to financial services and asset management in French
- Break news on France’s financial services industry including banks, asset managers (Amundi) and insurance companies (Axa)
- Deliver market reports containing information and context that traders can use to make investment decisions
- Collaborate closely with team members covering related fields, such as mergers and acquisitions as well as banks
- Write fast contextual stories (Explainers, Factboxes, Quotes) to run alongside breaking international markets stories

**About Y**ou**

You’re a fit for the role of Breaking News Correspondent specialised in financial services and markets if you have:

- At least 5 years of experience as a finance or/and markets reporter, ideally in a real-time news organization
- Solid knowledge of global macroeconomics, financial markets, the financial services sector and corporate news
- An ability to cultivate sources at banks, brokerages, asset managers and investment funds
- Strong news judgment and a commitment to accuracy
- An ability to work collaboratively
- A willingness to learn and an ambition to build skills and take on greater challenges
- Fluent written and spoken French, a good command of English
- Resilience in high-pressure situations
