Principal Test Engineer

**On Wafer Test Engineer**

Setup, calibration and operation of microwave and millimeter-wave test systems in an IC design R&D environment. Equipment purchase, maintenance, calibration and laboratory management.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Manage and advise junior test engineers, technicians and operators on a daily basis and solve problems
- Participate in the establishment of a realistic test schedule, propose and implement actions to optimize the time spent and the equipment
- Develop the skill level of the CSP workshop, improving our knowledge of new equipment and testing techniques
- Ensure on wafer test of prototypes or products with good quality and schedule, from the definition and assembly of the measuring bench to the formatting of the results
- Based on the test plans, define the test benches and control software to validate the circuits
- Ensure, in collaboration with the team, the smooth running of the workshop (calibration of measuring devices, maintenance, cleanliness) and the optimization of resources (probers, equipment

**GENERAL ORGANIZATION**
- Proactively participate in the development of the schedule o
- Propose solutions to optimize the test resources as much as possible
- Propose actions to improve the CSP (equipment, organization, etc.)
- Participate in the development and maintenance of the test database
- Participate in the operational management of the instrumentation, MESC and rental fleet, in particular the periodic monitoring, verification contracts, and the interface with service providers and suppliers
- **TEST PREPARATION**
- In the case of circuits designed by MESC, participate in the final design review in order to verify the correct testability of the circuit and to optimize the test (time spent, quality, efficiency, probe cards)
- In the case of circuits designed by external designers, check that the requested tests are possible during the final mapping review
- If necessary, define the probe cards required for the test and ensure that they are supplied at the latest before the end of the production of the first wafers
- If necessary, define and arrange for the rental of the necessary test equipment

**DEFINITION AND ASSEMBLY OF TEST BENCHES**
- In collaboration with the internal or external designer of the circuit, define the test bench(es) that will allow the specifications to be verified as efficiently as possible
- Ensure or supervise the assembly of test benches and the development of associated software
- In collaboration with the internal or external designer of the circuit, ensure the validation of the test bench
- Ensure or supervise the assembly of production benches, ensuring consistency with previous campaigns

**TEST**
- Perform or supervise the testing of the circuits, ensuring the quality of the result (calibration, reproducibility) and minimizing the impact on the circuits (studs, contamination)
- Respect and ensure that the schedule defined during the daily meetings is respected
- If necessary, perform the test in the presence of the customer
- **DOCUMENTATION AND ARCHIVING**
- Ensure that measurement software creates result files in a format that allows easy post processing
- Ensure that the result files are available in a saved location that is accessible to users and in the database
- Ensure proper documentation of measurement benches and associated tests, so that they can be reproduced if required

**Job Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of basic electronics: transistors, amplifiers, mixers, oscillators, decoupling
- Knowledge of common and microwave measuring devices: network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, noise meters, PNAs, power supplies, microwave connectors
- Knowledge of microwaves: S-parameters, gain, noise, power, Smith chart - coding: being able to develop automatic test software
- Be able to hold a technical discussion in English
