The International Energy Agency (IEA) is an intergovernmental organisation committed to advancing security of energy supply, economic growth and environmental sustainability through energy policy co-operation. The IEA operates as an autonomous body within the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Both the IEA and the OECD seek opportunities to work with an increasing number of non-members of growing importance to the world economy.

The Global Commission for People-Centred Clean Energy Transitions was established by the IEA Executive Director in 2020. It brought together ministers and thought leaders from across the world to identify key principles for ensuring clean energy policies are inclusive and people-centred, making recommendations that shape the agenda for clean energy policy makers. This work has set the agenda for a widening engagement and work programme on issues relating to the themes of decent jobs and worker protection; social and economic development; equality, social inclusion and fairness; and people as active participants in clean energy transitions. At their meeting in 2022, IEA Ministers directed the IEA Secretariat to continue to develop data analysis and policy recommendations on these priority issues.

**Research and Analysis**
- Contribute to IEA’s research programme on the people-centred dimensions of clean energy transition policies and their impacts
- Gather and analyse data on current relevant policies and programmes as well as information and analysis relating to their impacts
- Develop knowledge resources, such as policy databases and case studies, to present information on policies and programmes, as well as drawing lessons as to best practice policy design and implementation
- Contribute to relevant IEA outputs, including project reports, web content and presentations.

**Liaison and outreach**
- Support the preparation and delivery of key events such as meetings of the IEA Clean Energy Labour Council, key meetings such as the IEA Ministerial meeting, thematic webinars, and events at forums such as COP and the Clean Energy Ministerial.
- Support the promotion of the work of the IEA externally to a wide range of audiences through organising and preparing materials for workshops and bi-lateral meetings.
- Collaborate with relevant colleagues across the Agency in support of the broader IEA efforts and to strengthen IEA engagement with other collaborative platforms.

**Qualifications**:
Academic Background
- A university degree in relevant disciplines such as economics, social sciences, development studies, international relations, public policy, energy and environmental policy or similar discipline.

Professional Background
- Minimum of two years experience working on policy and economic analysis of people-centred topics, e.g. regarding jobs and skills, just transitions, equality, social acceptance, and social impacts.
- Excellent understanding of the energy sector and just transition and development issues.
- Proven analytical experience and strong writing skills, as demonstrated by past work (publications, reports, quantitative analysis, operative models and/or published papers).
