- Terrorism and Contingency are part of a wider matrix Marine/Specialty team that delivers high-quality Terrorism and Contingency insurance and reinsurance protection for both core and bespoke risks. Our coverages extend across the globe to a wide range of clients and industries.

Purpose of the Role
- We are seeking an Underwriter to maintain relationships with brokers, clients and business partners in order to manage a renewal portfolio and help develop new business opportunities.
- Contingency risks clients include event organizers (corporate, entertainment, sports, etc.). Terrorism and Political Violence clients include all kinds of companies with assets abroad, in countries exposed to political unrest and instability. We specialize in dealing with complex insurance and reinsurance risks and supporting the businesses from small specialist companies up to multi-billion-dollar businesses.
- The primary responsibility of this role will be to underwrite business in accordance with the business plan and within delegated underwriting authority.
- Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite profitable terrorism and contingency business in accordance with the business plan, internal policies and guidelines and within delegated underwriting authority
- Representing the Paris office terrorism and contingency team which will involve helping set strategy, maintain broker relationships and manage the portfolio of business in French-speaking countries.
- Generating new business along with developing new and maintaining existing business relationships with brokers and clients.
- Support for existing accounts and business processes including underwriting renewals, tracking market conditions.
- Underwriting research and risks analysis.
- Products function: assessment of new products, and development of new initiatives and accounts.Being an integral part of the wider European and Global Liberty Underwriting Team- Strategy and Planning
- Contribute to the development of the annual business plan for the Underwriting division by making appropriate decisions
- Contribute to and participate in all meetings in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practiceContribute to new ideas and concepts to support the development and delivery of the business plan- Delivery
- Establish and strengthen and develop relationships with customers, brokers, business partners, reinsurers and colleagues to maximize influence and achieve business objectives
- Demonstrate understanding and awareness of market dynamics and market cycles to drive and enhance business performance
- Maintain expertise and team knowledge through appropriate development opportunities
- Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and personal authority to meet business objectives, including:

- i. Negotiating rates, terms and conditions for existing and new business
- ii. Compliance with the production and issue of documentation in accordance with contract certainty requirements
- Participate in the review and analysis of the portfolio, to identify progress towards business objectives
- Ensure entries are properly recorded onto relevant systems in a timely manner whilst ensuring accuracy of data with relation to both underwriting and aggregate exposures

- Compliance with all applicable internal and external laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidance.
- Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and best practice methodology in order to minimise risk.Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. - Extensive Contingency and/or Terrorism/PV underwriting experience
- Knowledge of the sport, entertainment and media marketplace either as a broker or insurer
- Proven knowledge of relevant market conditions of Contingency and/or Terrorism/PV space
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements
- Interest in international relations, geopolitics, safety/security
- Use of risk profiling and pricing tools and loss
