**Jub purpose**:
Working closely with the local production and theatrical teams, the financial controller supervises all accounting-related activities and provides the necessary support and advises.

**Main responsibilities**:
**Local Original Production**
- Collaborate with local OP departments to oversee 3rd party production companies, producers and accountants in France
- Onboard 3rd party production teams to HBO policies and procedures
- Oversee timely and comprehensive budgeting and cost reporting throughout the life cycle of a production to ensure proper financial management
- Analyze production budgets from overall spend to individual rates
- Understands the operations of a production and guide each project through its financial workflows required for a successful launch on the service
- Track any applicable production incentives and tax receivables
- Work closely and collaboratively with HBO teams incl. legal, tax, accounting and content planning
- Maintain production finance information in the forecast system (production funding, cash flow etc.)
- Support the FP&A team in regards of corporate finance processes (month end closing, forecasting and budgeting)
- Embrace process improvements to help scale the business
- Support project-based initiatives (ask questions, gather data, analyze, present)
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis

**Theatrical Local Production**
- Supervise monthly LP Analysis (including film amortization & write-offs), ensuring accuracy and timeliness, with reporting to Home Office
- Establish LP/IA projects financial analysis and budget monitoring in accordance with HO policies.
- Supervise & review producer participation statements for LP
- Obtain HO approval on producers statement/MG payments, and ensure communication to producers
- Follow-up subsidies generated by local films produced and/or distributed

**Profile/Skills**
- Understanding and experience in the production industry in EMEA
- Excellent knowledge of production environment of French films
- Experience in financing film productions, ability to plan and manage budgets
- Ability in understanding complex accounting structures and strong analytical expertise
- Combine meticulous attention to detail with the ability to see the broader, strategic picture
- Must be self-motivated, disciplined, highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks
- Entrepreneurial, pro-active can-do attitude and ability to think outside the box
- IT-literate with excellent MS Office skills (Excel skills required)
- Fluency in French & English
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, excellent leadership
- Ability to work well under time constraints and to handle multiple tasks
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field preferred
