We are excited you are considering Duck Creek as a future employer and hope you decide to join “The Flock” - LinkedIn and Twitter TITLE: Manager - Data WHAT YOU’LL DO: You will manage a "chapter" of 6 data engineers and will be responsible for moving the technical roadmap forward, providing guidance and support while setting up targets for the chapter. You will also be in charge of career management. You will report directly to the engineering director for the reinsurance software. The engineering "tribe" working on the reinsurance software, of which you will be part of, is composed of 20 engineers specialized in a large technical stack. Your tasks will include: - Provide guidance and "vision" to the chapter.- Drive the technical roadmap with the support of the team and the engineering director- Provide insight regarding the evolution of the technical stack.- Propose an action plan to match Duck Creek’s global target data architecture- Tend to the chapter in terms of knowledge, training, career, on boarding Example of current/upcoming projects: - Study to move to a more modern and cloud-based architecture- Improvement of the automatic testing processes- Optimization of the current technical stack WHAT YOU’VE DONE: - Degree in software engineering required- 6 years’ experience as a "data" developer- 4 years’ experience as a technical lead or manager of a small team (3-5 engineers)- Demonstrated success with data related cloud technologies- Demonstrated success with leading a team of 3 to 5 developers- Experience with Jenkins/Maven/Git/SQL and an ETL. PL/SQL and reporting tool is a plus.
