**Senior Commodity Management**

You join our Global Procurement team in charge of several portfolio inside Metal and Electromechanical commodities. You are responsible for a strategic supplier portfolio; you define and deploy a roadmap to reach Itron’s global goals. As part of an international and matrix organization, you interact with various departments and regions to ensure success.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- Researching and sourcing suppliers for your commodity.
- Establish and deploy procurement strategy (strategy roadmap, preferred supplier list) for your commodity.
- Identify alternative sources that provide both strategic & opportunistic cost reduction benefits for Itron.
- Financial review of supplier metrics, detailed cost analysis on suppliers’ RFQ responses, and developing & communicating recommendations for management review and approval.
- Conduct supplier selection and negotiations to deliver contractual agreements with preferred suppliers in accordance with your category strategy.
- Support supplier quality and manufacturing engineering teams with Supplier evaluation, Process audit, supplier risk assessment.
- Provide external marketplace knowledge of the latest category dynamics, trends, benchmarks, and best practices.
- Support Supply chain teams through definition and implementation of recovery plan with suppliers.

**Preferred skills and experience**:

- Master’s degree in technical or commercial field, ideally with specialty in Procurement.
- Minimum 10 years of Commodity Management experience in an industrial and international environment.
- Solid experience with the mechanical and metal categories (stamping, casting, forging, machining, mechanical assembly) and good knowledge of current market tendencies.
- Strong technical understanding to challenge suppliers during negotiations or visits.
- Proactivity, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with a wide variety of interlocutors, persuasiveness, ability to negotiate internally and externally.
- Sense of rigor and analysis, ability to make decisions based on concrete data.
- Mastery of the Office suite (especially Excel) and an ERP system.
- Fluent English and French is mandatory.

Role based on our strategic location in Macon (71) in the near proximity of Lyon.
