Chauffeur

**Duties**:
Drives an official vehicle in Paris, its surroundings and and occasionally to distant points in France and Germany on temporary travel assignments.
Maintains official vehicles in a clean, presentable, fueled and operationally ready condition for immediate use at all times.
Performs routine maintenance, and/or schedules and delivers official vehicles to appropriate maintenance facility, while maintaining accurate information on daily vehicle usage reports; submits these forms on a daily basis to the Marine on duty.
Provides timely reporting to the Detachment Commander and Marine Security Guards (MSG) Vehicle on any safety or mechanical defects with assigned vehicles. Performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Evaluations**:

- Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of two years experience as a professional driver.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
A thorough knowledge of the streets in Paris and areas to avoid traffic or security concerns.

Must be familiar with safe-driving techniques.
- Education Requirements:
Mandatory: Completion of Secondary School or Local Mandatory Schooling and received high school diploma
- Evaluations:
Post may choose to add the phrase “This may be tested” after a language, skill, and/or ability. Review the VA template for specific information.

LANGUAGE (THESE WILL BE TESTED):
Mandatory: English: Limited knowledge required

French: Good working knowledge required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to drive a light-armored vehicle for legal operation of Marine vehicles. Ability to identify and perform first-level mechanical tasks. Ability to read maps and locate any destination. Ability to use a GPS. Ability to drive under stressful and possibly dangerous circumstances.

Must possess a valid driver's license B, C and D.

**ALARY**: the **annual gross salary includes**: the profit-sharing allowance, the vacation allowance, the bonus allowance and the “Comité d’Entreprise” allowance.

**MEAL TICKETS**: Meal tickets have a face value of EUR 8.25/day. 60% of the daily amount is paid by the U.S. Government. An employee contribution of EUR 3.30 per ticket will be deducted in payroll. The number of meal tickets is limited to 202 workdays per year.

**TRANSPORTATION**:Employees are eligible for a reimbursement of 50% of the cost of public transportation passes purchased for commuting purposes.

**HOLIDAYS**: The U.S. Missions in France observe eleven U.S. holidays per year and up to ten French holidays.

**For EFMs**, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

- IMPORTANT: Applicants who claim status as a preference-eligible U.S. Veteran must submit a copy of their most recent DD-214 (“Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty”), Letter from Veterans’ Affairs which indicates the present existence of a service-connected disability dated within the past six months, equivalent documentation, or certification.
