**Automation Technician**
**Context**
Come and join our (4-person) SCADA group, which forms part of the Electricity and Electronics Service in ILL’s Reactor Division. The maintenance teams carry out modernisation work, maintenance work and performance tests on the reactor installations, in compliance with associated regulations.
**Your tasks**
Reporting to the head of group and in compliance with ILL’s quality assurance standards, you will have the following duties:
- Maintain the automated systems in operational conditions (monitor obsolescence, keep track of the spare parts stock, conduct diagnostic analysis and resolve malfunctions, etc.)
- Design, develop and run automated systems
- Study and monitor electrical work linked to automation installations (monitoring of suppliers for the installation of cabinets and boxes, during cable tensioning or for monitoring connections)
- Update documentation (specifications, procedures, test reports, etc.)
- Follow up and monitor subcontractors
You may occasionally be required to perform tasks in related areas (supervision, administration of IT systems, etc.) in addition to the above duties.
The ability to analyse situations with a critical mind would be appreciated in order to pursue the continuous improvement of the installation.
**Your profile**
- You have a Level 4 or Level 5 qualification (NVQ, BTEC HNC/HND or equivalent) or apprenticeship degree in the design and implementation of automated systems (or equivalent).
- You have several years of experience in industrial automation.
- You are proficient in the development and adjustment of Schneider programmable logic controllers (knowledge of the Siemens range would be an advantage), as well as their human/machine interface.
- You are capable of reading wiring diagrams and monitoring subcontracting for the installation of automation electrical cabinets. You are familiar with the main types of sensors and electrical signals used in industrial automation.
- You have a service-oriented attitude, a pragmatic approach and are able to work independently or as part of a team while complying with regulatory requirements.
- You have a hands-on, meticulous approach to your work, as well as a sense of initiative and autonomy.
