Remote Textile Designer Internship

Our Textile Designer Internship opportunity will provide you with a great opportunity for students undertaking their industry work placement to learn how every department of a young fashion design label works in a very practical process. Please note our Textile Designer internships run for 3 months with the possibility of being extended to 6 months and we expect a commitment of 20 hours per week.

What you will be doing:

- Working on colorway options, repeats, print placements, layouts, and artworks for fabric developments, using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Researching fabrication ideas
- Print/fabric research and analysis
- Organizing and categorizing fabrics and prints
- Showroom and show preparations
- Liaising with other team members involved in the studio process
- Assisting with general studio admin day-to-day
- Working with the Design & Development team to meet deadlines

Skills required:

- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Some understanding of fabric characteristics is desired but not essential
- Proven ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
- Proactive and able to take initiative
- Excellent eye for details and print design

What you will learn:

- How to extend fabrication ideas and bring them into garments
- A better understanding of developing print designs
- How to meet a tight deadline under pressure
- Communication skills between the department and team members.
- A better understanding of fabrics and trims from working closely with the Fabric and design team

Please note that this is an unpaid internship. Upon completion of the internship, we will provide you with a reference letter and a certificate. The internship should ideally last from 3 to 6 months. Since this is a remote internship, you will have a flexible and independent schedule with a great opportunity for growth.
