A new role as **Regional Technical Lines Underwriting Manager **has been created which can be located anywhere within CEMENA, but preferably in Paris (La Défense)

As a Regional Technical Lines Underwriting Manager, your expertise and insights will shape our underwriting strategies and help drive our business forward. You will have the opportunity to work within a matrix environment, collaborating with both local and regional teams to ensure consistency and success.

**Role responsibilities include**:

- Underwriting Guidelines & Referrals: Support the Regional Head in overseeing and monitoring underwriting activity to ensure it aligns with business strategy and underwriting guidelines. Act as the first point of contact for underwriting referrals.
- Engineering: Assist in prioritizing engineering desk-top reviews and survey requests.
- Underwriting Authority: Work with the Regional Head to ensure consistency and support the delegation of authority throughout the region according to business strategy.
- Training and Development: Develop and implement relevant training programs to equip underwriters with the necessary tools and knowledge within their delegated underwriting authority.
- Portfolio Management: Collaborate with country Line Managers and actuaries to implement consistent portfolio management processes. Identify areas of profitability and loss within individual portfolios. Monitor portfolio review findings, ensure action plans are completed, and track results.
- Underwriting Technical Audits: Participate in underwriting audits for the Line of Business across the region. Monitor compliance with underwriting directives and follow up on recommendations.
- Peer Review: Collaborate with the CEMENA Head to ensure referral and peer review processes are executed in accordance with guidelines and consistently tracked.
- Support: Assist the CEMENA Head of Technical Lines & Energy in their absence or as needed.

**Required profile**:

- Professional Insurance and/or Engineering qualification with industry experience.
- At least 10 years of underwriting experience including involvement with multinational accounts in both Property (Power/Energy) and Construction (CAR/EAR/Civils). Portfolio management experience required.
- Results driven with ability to make own decisions within the scope of underwriting guides and line strategy line and work on own initiative.
- Excellent team worker. Able to work in a matrix environment.
- Excellent spoken and written English, fluency in other European language desirable, preferably French or German.
