Operations Manager

As Operations Manager you will be part of Olatein DSM-Firmenich joint venture. You will be managing the Olatein Dieppe plant and staff with the highest level of requirement, regarding safety, hygiene and environmental standards. Ensures that all products are manufactured and shipped according to customer needs and in accordance with specifications, budgets, and forecasts.

Your key responsibilities:

- Responsible for the management of the Olatein Dieppe plant.
- Responsible for the coordination of activities and services with Prolein (site and crush) and Veolia (wastewater treatment).
- Responsible for the performance results of the plant (quality, safety, environment, cost management, capacity management and operational efficiency), to achieve production objectives and in compliance with quality specifications.
- Responsible for the maintenance strategy of the plant and the realization of small investment projects.
- Ensure the proper maintenance of the installations allowing reliability an optimal lifespan while optimizing the maintenance budget.
- Ensure that the plant operates in compliance with national standards and DSM SHE & security requirements regarding safety, health and environmental practices and interacts with the DREAL.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and quality standards, and environmental and quality certifications of the factory
- Promote operational excellence, including SHE and quality.
- Demonstrate a caring, yet strict attitude regarding the safety of all workers and requires the same attitude from all employees in the plant. Actively promotes a safe working environment for all workers by leading by example
- Develop the plant's annual budget (fixed and variable costs) and ensures that it is respected
- Responsible for managing social relations in order to obtain constructive collaboration with the representatives of the personnel and to ensure a competent, engaged and collaborative workforce.
- Select and ensures the development and training of plant employees.
- Assume responsibility and acts as a coach and challenger for his/her direct reports, and more generally for all employees, in the planning of activities and for the implementation of programs. Ensures and encourages a performance, qualified and committed team.

You bring:

- Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree;
- At least 10 years of experience
- Solid experience as a Plant Manager, being responsible for strategic topics, as well ensuring operational excellence, continuous improvement, technical and process innovations, technology transfer and sustainability
- Experience in wastewater treatment management is preferred
- Experience with complex stakeholder management
- Enterprising, well-organized, stress-resistant mindset
- Excellent team spirit, able to lead a team to an exemplary level of performance
- Ability to lead without authority and to lead change in a complex matrix environment
