The Backend team at Fieldwire builds and maintains the endpoints and services leveraged by our client apps (web, iOS and Android) and 3rd party integrations. Our feature teams are composed of QA, Development, Design and Product team members. Fieldwire's apps are mission critical for the construction teams that use Fieldwire everyday to save time and money on the jobsite.

**What you'll be doing**

You will own the story for automation on the Backend and create long-lasting foundations at Fieldwire. You will be working directly with Backend engineers to create and contribute tests. Day-to-day includes adding to the Backend test framework, writing tests, and reviewing scenarios with the Backend team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the Backend testing strategy.

**A day in the life of a QA Backend Automation Engineer will be frequently solving these types of problems**:

- Building API automation test coverage
- Identify testability requirements, utilizing industry standards for automated testing
- Working directly with Backend team on planning, writing, and executing tests and include them in the CI/CD pipeline
- Working with QA team and platform counter-parts (web, iOS and Android) on building testing best practices for engineering

**At Fieldwire, we're looking for our next QA Backend Automation Engineer to have the following skills and experiences**:

- 5+ years of experience working as an automation engineer (QA or SDET)
- 2+ years of automating tests for Backend platforms
- Experience building tests against real APIs
- Experience in executing test runs and reviewing failures
- Familiar with QA best practices, such as identifying test coverage and what should be tested
- Strong communications skills
- Experience developing a Backend test strategy
- Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
- Experience testing scalability and performance

**Where is the job located?**

This role is based in France. Even though we have an office in Paris, this role has the flexibility to work from home. We believe in talent and not location so we are flexible in allowing this role to work from anywhere in France.
