**Product Sustainability Specialist, Global** (M/F/X)

**The opportunity**:
With defining what a more sustainable product looks like at Sephora, and the growing client demand for products with a lower environmental impact, we are setting our brand sustainability standards globally. The Global Specialist of Product Sustainability will help lead one of our key regions in these efforts, as well as support brands globally on increasing product sustainability.

**You will excel and enjoy this position if you are ready to actively handle the following missions**:
Program implementation and evolution
- Manages the implementation and ongoing evolution of the Sephora Public Chemicals Policy including collaboration & communication with NGOs
- Support evolution of standards for Clean & Planet programs globally
- Support development of long-term product sustainability strategy and policies

Brand education and resources
- Supports brands to adopt more sustainable practices and increase transparency
- Reviewing and summarizing technical information to help respond to brand inquiries about safer ingredient policies and building sustainability roadmaps
- Write guidelines and helps to develop training and educational materials on sustainability

Cross functional support
- Supports cross-functional collaboration, working with merchants and other regional leads
- Advises US merchant teams on Clean & Sustainability
- Builds and adapts efficient systems to help communicate sustainability standards and criteria to internal teams

Best Practices
- Understands and/or is apt to learn the best practices in sustainability, eco-design product development and industry expectations in Sephora markets
- Has knowledge or has a desire to learn about the latest innovations in the beauty industry that have proven measures to lower environmental impact
- Helps to understand sustainability successes and pain points for brands regionally through regulation, size, availability of materials or other factors

Tools & Monitoring
- Improves the efficiency of operational systems, dashboards, and processes to track projects and product data, creating new ones as needed
- Develops and expands tools to track ingredient, packaging, and other sustainability metrics
- Creates process resources and tools to increase sustainability adoption and communication internally and with the brand community
- 5+ years sustainability and/or beauty expertise (preferably both)
- Experience in supporting sustainability objectives and programs in a for-profit environment
- Beauty or other consumer product industry experience, highly preferred in chemical management, packaging, climate, LCA and other material issues as it relates to sustainability and environmental impact
- Some knowledge of major regulation, industry standards, and environmental laws
- Proven ability to drive results and manage ambiguity while engaging and inspiring diverse cross-functional teams
- Sustainable business or environmental undergraduate degree or equivalent preferred

**Position based in Paris HQ in France, or San Francisco HQ in the USA (this position is also eligible to remote working in the USA).**
