Role Overview
**Responsibilities**:
- In the context of the G.R.O.W. strategy and the Solvay One Planet initiative of the Solvay Group, we are looking for a highly motivated and exceptional Machine Learning Engineering Intern to support our Chemical Decoding initiative.
- The Chemical Decoding initiative aims to radically accelerate innovation projects to create value. It uses Machine Learning along with other techniques to aid scientists to design new materials to face the challenges of the future.
- The intern will work primarily on productionizing Machine Learning models using MLOps best practices. This work also might involve improving the customer experience of our app UI/UX.
- The Machine Learning Engineer Intern will report to the Data Science Lead for the product. He/she will work closely with Solvay domain experts.
**Profile**:
- Software Engineering/Computer Science background
- Prior experience in software engineering, web-app development and machine learning is a big plus
- Excellent problem solving and software engineering skills
- Excellent Python coding skills, Javascript knowledge is a big plus
- Ability to write clean, efficient, modular code
- Knowledge of key aspects of a Machine Learning pipeline
- Knowledge of data management, databases, visualizations would be a plus
- Self motivated and keenly interested in software development
- Highly collaborative mindset & team spirit and while being effective and direct
- Communication skills to present updates, risks and issues in a clear & timely manner
