Procurement Associate

**Job Description Summary**:
We are looking for a skilled Procurement Associate who can bring their experience to help the European team to contribute to policies and procedures that relate to the transportation of goods inbound and outbound to the facility.

Be responsible for all activities pertaining to the purchase of indirect materials and services for Europe. The buyer maintains excellent Supplier relationships and negotiates best pricing without compromising quality.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Audit freight invoices to ensure accurate billing by service providers, and to identify and recover over-payments as needed. Also, audit freight invoices against amounts charged to customers to ensure STEMCELL cost recovery meets company policy and objectives
- Manage purchases from requisition to delivery; issuing Purchase Orders, setting delivery schedules, monitoring status of outstanding POs and deliveries, expediting when necessary, assisting with issues related to invoicing and/or delivery issues and follow-up on returns or refunds for non-conforming materials
- Day-to-day liaison with Carriers and Freight Forwarders and other external partners, and internal stakeholders, to schedule shipments, obtain shipment estimates, determine best service and routing, and to troubleshoot and/or investigate delays and other issues
- Tracking of shipments to identify and resolve delays and other issues, and to ensure that agreed to service levels are met

**Knowledge and Qualifications**:

- Bachelor or master degree
- Ability to work with external partners, vendors and agencies
- Highly detail focused
- Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
