OPUS Aerospace designs, manufactures and operates launchers and spacecraft in order to accelerate space exploration. With STERNE, it wishes to offer access to space for small satellites.
At the end of 2020, the company was already able to successfully fire its firt liquid propellant rocket engine. Now, it is developing its first suborbital demonstrator.
To accelerate our development, we are recruiting a Launcher Mechanical Engineer to participate in the development of our suborbital demonstrator. Your missions will consist of:
- Participate in the complete sizing & modeling of the rocket & its parts,
- Perform thermal, structural, and tolerance analysis for electro-mechanical assemblies using both hand calculations and finite element analysis,
- Determine the production and control processes to be followed on rocket part or assemblies,
- Participate in setting up tests & qualification internally or with partners,
- Write and update the associated technical documentation.
Graduate of an engineering school or holder of a master's degree in mechanics or equivalent, previous solid and successful experience in the aerospace, aeronautical or automotive sector would be appreciated. You are recognized for the following qualities and/or skills:
- Solid knowledge of thermal and structural FEA studies,
- Experience in using CAD tools to design and assemble parts (CATIA, Fusion 360 )
- Experience in using mechanical & thermal simulation tools (Abaqus, Patran/Nastran, Ansys)
- Dynamic, flexible, organized, rigorous, autonomous and proactive,
- Your level of English allows you to interpret and write technical documentation
**Additional information**
- Position based in Bretigny-sur-Orge (91160). Travel in France or abroad is to be expected.
- Type of contract: Permanent
- Start date: As soon as possible
**Salary**: 35,000.00€ - 42,000.00€ per year
