Le Laboratoire Lorrain de Chimie Moléculaire (L2CM) est une UMR CNRS-Université de Lorraine (UMR 7053) née en Janvier 2018 dirigée par Pr Andreea Pasc qui regroupe environ 70 personnes réparties géographiquement sur Nancy (Faculté des Sciences et Technologies; Campus Brabois Santé) et Metz (Institut de Chimie, Physique et Matériaux).
**Description**:
The introduction of σ-donating moieties such as N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC) within the ligands structures has already been proved to be an important key to destabilize the MC states of the Fe(II) complexes, while allowing to reach MLCT states of some tens of picoseconds. Combining NHC moieties with highly conjugated groups is a chemical approach to prepare Fe(II) complexes with large absorption spectrum in the visible region. This has been recently highlighted in our lab with the synthesis of various compelxes, which combine excellent absorption properties as well as long-lived MLCT states.
As an extension of our recent work, we propose a M2 internship dedicated to the synthesis and characterization of new promising complexes 3 bearing various conjugated and planar R groups that would allow to further improve the photophysical properties of the related complexes.
