Join Amazon's EU International Technology (EU INTech) Fusion org as an Applied Scientist. You'll be part of a passionate group solving highly ambiguous and challenging problems at global scale. In this role, you'll be responsible for major science challenges, including selection, ranking, and recommendations to enable new customer experiences. You'll design, develop, deliver, and support a variety of models in collaboration with diverse teams around the world. You'll also influence scientific direction, maintain quality on team deliverables, and mentor others on the use of your AI models.
Key job responsibilities
- Derive ML models or LLMs/LMMs for ecommerce.
- Design and develop scalable ML models.
- Work with large datasets.
- Work closely with software engineering teams to deploy your innovations.
- Publish your work at major conferences/journals.
- Mentor team members in the use of your AI models.
- Understand the models available across Amazon that could be leveraged or adapted for your work.
A day in the life
As an Applied Scientist in Fusion org, you'll collaborate with senior product managers, business stakeholders, and global sustainability teams to create innovative CX. Together, you'll work to help customers more easily discover, evaluate, and purchase circular products across the EU, with plans to extend capabilities worldwide. Supported by engineers, you'll build foundational ML models and systems to power Amazon's Circularity initiatives.
About the team
Fusion is a collection of multiple tech domains including Circularity, Regulatory Fees, DEX etc. While you'll be starting with (and reporting into) the Circularity domain, you'll have the opportunity to also solve for Science topics in the other domains. The mission of the INTech Circularity team is to become the top destination for customers to get maximum value from items they own, for as long as possible, while minimizing the environmental impact. This is one of the most strategic and complex shifts for the retail industry, fueled by EU consumers and compliance mandates, such as environmental badging.
- 5+ years of industry experience in predictive modeling and analysis
- Launch Zero to one products
- Ability to think creatively and solve problems
- Good written and spoken communication skills
- Demonstrated track record of cultivating strong working relationships and driving collaboration across multiple technical and business teams
