Materials Scientist

The Materials Scientist will be responsible for planning and execution of projects in co-operation with the rest of the lab team. The holder of this position will be responsible for the completion of projects and the accuracy of the results within the project time lines.

- Propose, execute and drive technical work packages within defined projects in related technology area according to company strategy and guidelines
- Identify the properties of the polymers to be controlled and their effect on product quality using a theoretical and experimental approach
- Managing analysis, testing and technical leadership on targeted film projects / human and material resources, responsibilities, technical tests, compliance with budget, compliance with regulatory aspects.
- Actively participate in external expert-expert groups and/or other academic networks in his/her technology area
- Contribute to exploration in area of expertise to generate new state of the art knowledge
- Manage, train and substitute for Associate Scientists and technicians as per requirement

**What will convince us**:

- Academic degree in Science or equivalent (Engineering degree in materials, polymer chemistry,...)
- Several years' experience in a similar position
- Experience in a related industry and respective technology areas (polymer materials, plastics,...)
- Analytical and conceptional thinker able to solve complex problems
- Ability to work in a cross-funtional position
- Autonomy and tenacity are required for this position
- Fluent in English
