**Our team and mission**
The GNSS Regional Augmentation System Division is responsible of the development of the EGNOS system and its qualification, under the programme management of the European Commission:
- The EGNOS version 3.1, providing Single Frequency augmentation of the GPS constellation, is currently under deployment and qualification and is composed of 39 Remote reference stations, 2 Main Control Centers (hosting in particular the central processing Facilities) and 6 Uplink Stations to connect to 3 EGNOS Geostationary satellites - All sites being interconnected by a dedicated Real-time Wide Area Network.
- The EGNOS Version 3.2 with 47 Remote reference stations will provide additionally Dual Frequency augmentation of the GPS and Galileo constellations.
The GNSS Regional Augmentation System Division is also managing a number of Research and Development activities under the H2020/Horizon Europe Infrastructure and NAVISP Programmes.
Whilst, the initial missions of EGNOS were focussed on aeronautical navigation, new missions are currently being engineered to cover multi domain high performance highly hybridised users (automotive, rail, maritime, drones).The System Engineering Section of the GNSS Regional Augmentation System Division is managing the following activities:
- Evolutions engineering;
- Performances analysis;
- Test Bed, Simulation and analysis tools;
- International Standardisation activities;
- Communication & Education.-
**Field(s) of activity/research for the traineeship**
Within the System Engineering Section of the GNSS Regional Augmentation System Division, the incumbent will provide support to Performance and System Engineering activities related to EGNOS V3.1 and V3.2 performance qualification and the development of EGNOS future missions addressing multi domain high performance highly hybridised users (rail, maritime, Automotive, drones...).- System Engineering analyses using the EGNOS V3 Test-bed or the “Fast replay - Cloud computing” Algorithm engineering and performance analysis platform;
- Support the continuous development of the Performance tools and algorithm engineering platform, in coordination with other laboratories & Test Beds;
- Support to the review of Horizon Europe/NAVISP technical documents delivered by Industry;
- Support to experimentations & demonstration of the new services;
- Production of performance analyses reports;
- Support to performance investigation activities.

You should have just completed, or be in the final year of your master’ s degree in telecommunications engineering, aerospace, electronic engineering, computer sciences or similar.**Additional requirements**

- Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS)
- Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) and more specifically the European one: EGNOS.
You should have good interpersonal and communication skills and should be able to work in a multicultural environment, both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience of working in international teams can be considered an asset.
