- As a Senior Research Associate at Givaudan, your primary objective is to drive innovation and develop improved and new products and solutions within the fragrance microencapsulation field and polymer chemistry. By conducting independent research activities and documenting results, you will contribute to the achievement of Givaudan's business objectives and corporate strategy. You will report to the Head of Develop & Process.**CORE RESPONSABILITIES**

**Research activities**
- **Execute scientific projects**: Utilize the resources available to plan and execute technical projects within the fragrance microencapsulation field. Deliver high-quality results and maintain accurate documentation.
- **Identify IP opportunities**: Stay alert to opportunities for developing intellectual property (IP) and protecting inventions within the fragrance microencapsulation. Highlight potential IP opportunities to contribute to the company's competitive advantage.
- **Transfer technologies to industrialization team**: Interact with scale-up teams to successfully transfer technology from the laboratory scale to the manufacturing plants. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition and efficient implementation of research finding
- **Ensure safe and well-maintained laboratory environment**: Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly laboratory environment in accordance with Givaudans's EHS guidelines. Prioritize safety and compliance while conducting research activities.

**Scientific support**
- **Develop scientific excellence**: Continuously develop and maintain scientific excellence in the fragrance microencapsulation. Stay updated on the latest advancements, methodologies, and technologies through literature review, conferences, and interactions with suppliers.
- **Supervise and mentor**: Provide supervision and mentorship to other lab members as appropriate. Share your expertise and contribute to their professional growth and development.
- **Contribute to research methods**: Effectively contribute to the development of research methods and technical planning. Collaborate with colleagues (Perfumers, Upstream research team, Industrial team, Regulatory) to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of research processes.

**PROFILE**
- **Academic background**: MS level scientist with at least 5 years of industrial experience and the ability to address scientific challenges
- **Scientific and analytical skills**: Strong scientific (emulsions, biopolymers functionalization, delivery systems) and analytical skills to design experiments, analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
- **Knowledge of fragrance science is a plus**: Familiarity with the fundamentals of fragrance science and technology to support research activities.
- **Awareness of Scientific Literature**: Ability to stay updated with relevant scientific literature and discoveries in the scientific field.
- **Computer literacy**: Proficiency in using computer software and tools relevant to scientific research. Design of Experiments approach. AI tools use
