- As part of the InterDigital Research & Innovation Video Laboratory, the Media Services group aims to develop groundbreaking innovations for the media production and distribution industry.
- For over a decade, the group has built strong expertise in Video High Dynamic Range (HDR) creation and production tools. Video HDR is increasingly deployed in the industry, and the upcoming challenge will involve conversion tools to ensure live HDR compositing throughout the video chain, maintaining HDR content consistency across different sources.
- The current apprentice mission proposal includes the following for the first year:

- A ramp-up period to understand the key video processing techniques used to create and convert HDR video content and the core technologies developed by the team.
- A state-of-the-art analysis of live video compositing workflows, focusing on local live advertising insertion. This step will specify the target use case and test content database.
- A state-of-the-art review of conventional and AI-based tools ensuring tone and inverse tone mapping functions, along with evaluation tests of the most relevant techniques.
- In the second year, the apprentice will develop a new solution for HDR content compositing, including implementation, testing, benchmarking, and publication. The apprentice will benefit from the team's expertise and co-development of tools within the team.

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree (first year) in computer science
- Skills in video and signal processing
- Proficiency in C/C++ coding
- Expertise in Python/JavaScript
- Experience with machine learning/deep learning frameworks
- Fluency in English
- Good teamwork and communication abilities
