Linux System Engineer
My client, a leading international tech organisation, are looking for 2 experienced Linux System Engineers to join the team on an initial 6-month contract based in Strasbourg. This will be working on the RedHat environment, developing and maintaining automation scripts using Ansible/Python for config management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installs and configures Servers with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS and system components;
- Maintains and adapts the configuration of server software and system components life cycle Management;
- Leverages Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform whenever and wherever possible;
- Designs and implements Red Hat solutions
- Hands-on knowledge about Red Hat Ceph Storage is a plus;
- Maintains and monitors the infrastructure: Incident resolution, Problem resolution;
- Troubleshooting, co-ordination with third party suppliers as well as with the central IT department of the customer;
- Advises the project team in areas such as capacity management;
- Contingency planning, environment planning, configuration management and other relevant tasks related to the role;
- Maintains the relevant documents/manuals describing the system and its infrastructure;
- Participates in standby 7x24 (1 week per month);
- Provides input for Incidents/Problems/Defects post closure analysis to the Incident/Problem Manager and/or the Technical Team Leader;
- Uses Vmware vSphere and vCenter knowledge and experience.
Required Experience:
- Red Hat RH-CSA certification 8.x or equivalent Linux certification (LPI, etc.)
- Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform Administration;
- VMware vSphere 7.0 and VMWare VSAN Administration;
- VMware Virtualization & Clustering;
- HPE Proliant and Synergy bladecenter;
- Nagios Core, nconf, Nagvis, Cacti, Net-Snmp, MariaDB, Grafana
- Network: Basic knowledge of Firewalling, load-balancing, switching and routing;
- Security: IAM, PKI, mTLS, CIS hardening, VM encryption, Key Mgmt System
- DevOps: Git, Ansible, Bash, Python, Yaml, Perl
- Storage: SAN, Fibre channel, NFS, CEPH, S3 object storage;
- Knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift and container orchestration is a plus.
