**About the Role**:
Based in France, the French Sr. Contributing Writer is a **contract, full-time role** rooted in writing, editing, and journalism with familiarity working in a content management system (CMS) as well as exposure to an international team and global communication process. Reporting to and collaborating with the French Editor as well as the INTL Editorial Manager, you will champion our French Editorial vertical by writing articles and feature stories on the latest news, trends, events, and titles in the anime industry for French readers, publishing several articles a day that drive users towards engagement on CR's editorial-supported platforms.

**Duties include**:

- Write news articles for Crunchyroll in French comprising a) from-scratch beat reporting on the latest industry news, b) original Features articles generated through research of industry-related content relevant to our community, and c) localization of News & Features articles adapted from English as outlined by management for global Crunchyroll initiatives.
- Generate French-specific Crunchyroll Features per month in support of title marketing efforts on an ad hoc basis as decided/approved by management or regional lead. This can include quizzes, deep dives, and longform opinion pieces.
- Publish articles according to the strategy set by the INTL Editorial Manager with oversight from the Sr. Manager of International Editorial.
- Work and connect with regional teams across the globe to help champion Crunchyroll's editorial initiatives across all supported languages.
- Under the mentorship of the INTL Editorial Manager, ensure a clear editorial POV that reflects a profound understanding of our audience, providing consistently fabulous packaging and positioning of articles to build the best possible experience.
- Key measures of success:

- Drive increased reads, watch-time, engagement, subscription, and content discovery on Crunchyroll.
- Drive increased CTR and view-through across diverse properties and titles.
- Clear and collaborative communication to global/regional teams and partnering collaborators.
- Readership and associated business outcomes tied to Crunchyroll News & Editorial.

**Qualifications**:

- Fluent in both French and English, able to participate in meetings conducted in either.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is preferred.
- Strong understanding and curiosity about anime, particularly within the French market.
- 1-3 years experience in an editorial, content curation, or digital publishing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop).
- Experience working with global teams across diverse cultures, demands, and time zones.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and facilitate communication in a fast-paced setting with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of digital content consumption and online communities.
- Proven problem-solving skills and use of data to advise decisions.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and requests.
